A 12-year-old girl has been a vicitim of cruel beating from her biological father as he mercilessly beats her with barbed wire. It was reported that she lives with her parents at Kuforiji Street Orile, Lagos. She had been receiving serious beating from her father but this particular one occurred because she tried to safe her mother from her father because he wanted to beat her.
She narrated that prior to the incident her mother had screamed for help inorder to get the neighbour's attention but she got the beating of her life. When she couldn't take it she tried to intervene and she got flogged.
The young girl was rescued at Oyingbo market in the middle of the night when she was found sobbing bitterly after the terrible session with her father. The Operatives of Vigilante Group of Nigeria Ebutte Metta chapter came to her rescue when they found the poor girl struggling in pain in the dead of the night.She narrated that prior to the incident her mother had screamed for help inorder to get the neighbour's attention but she got the beating of her life. It was gathered that the vicitim was taken to a hospital in Ebutte-Metta, where she is receiving treatment from the wound she sustained all over her body.
The police have refused to intervene in the case as they maintained that they do not handle such case. This was confirmed by the Secretary of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria Agbodemu Musbau.
I don't think the police is helping by saying this, so where do they want these victims to turn to?
