The authorities of the University of Lagos have disowned the lecturer identified as Dr. Akin Baruwa who raped an 18-year-old admission seeker.
On Sunday, it was gathered that the Head, Information Unit of the university, Mr. Olagoke Oke, said Baruwa was not an employee of the institution.
He emphasised that Baruwa is not a member of staff in the institution as his name does not exist on the university’s employee list.
According to Punch, some students in the Faculty of Business Administration, who craved anonymity for fear of victimisation, claimed that the suspect was a part-time lecturer of the accounting department of the university.On Sunday, it was gathered that the Head, Information Unit of the university, Mr. Olagoke Oke, said Baruwa was not an employee of the institution.

On the other hand, Baruwa who is in the police custody has confessed to the act but claimed that the sex was by mutual consent.
