OAU Student President Suspended From Office For Embarking On Planned US Trip


The President of the Student Union Government of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Mr. Omotayo Akande has been suspended by the leadership of the Student Union for allegedly seeking funds from the university authorities.
This was revealed in a statement signed by the Student Representative Council comprising the SUG Speaker, Adebari Adedayo; Clerk of the House, Ogunkanmi Omotayo; and Deputy Speaker, Olowofoyehan Oluseun, on Monday.
It was gathered that, Akande wanted to obtain N650,000 from the authorities to attend a conference in New York, United States of America.
The council said, his action breached its oath of office.
The suspension is to last for one month.
