The WikiLeaks released some documents confirming that the US spied on senior Japanese politicians, its top central banker and major companies including conglomerate Mitsubishi.
The documents include what appear to be five U.S. National Security Agency reports, four of which are marked top-secret, that reveal internal Japanese discussions on international trade and climate change policy.

The reports demonstrate the depth of US surveillance of the Japanese government, indicating that intelligence was gathered and processed from numerous Japanese government ministries and offices.
Also the documents showed close knowledge of internal Japanese deliberations on trade issues, nuclear and climate change policy, among others.
However, there was no quick response from Tokyo on the documents released by WikiLeaks.
