Pastor Jailed For Not Joining Gay Couple


Reports from NBC have it that, a pastor at the Christian Proctor Church in Vermont, USA has been sentenced to a year in prison because he failed to join gay couples in the church.
The pastor's lawyer told reporters that every effort is being made to prove his client innocent. He assured that the pastor will be a free man with time.
However, Honorable Myron Danus put it straight to the 56-year-old Pastor that he was not in any position to deny the gay couples the same rights every other person has as the rights were agreed upon in a court of law. He explained that it was his responsibility to abide by the law and enforce it has a leader of a congregation.
The criminal investigation emphasized that, since the Church was registered with the state as a religious corporation and a for-profit business then the owners must adhere to the state and federal regulations.
The president of the Vermont Family Research Committee Steve Shand said it is inappropriate for the government to force them to embrace gay marriage because it is against their beliefs.
He expressed his feelings by saying pretty soon pastors will be forced to start joining animals in the church.
The president of the LGBT Pride Centre in Vermont Gwen Hawkins expressed her joy on the conclusion of the case as she said she was happy with the guilty verdict.
