Osun To Provide Helicopters To The Police To Tackle Crime

News have emerged that the Osun state Government has procured helicopters for use by the police for patrol within the state, despite the inability of the government to pay worker's salary for the past few months.
Governor Rauf Aregbesola said the helicopters bought by his administration will soon begin operation once it is given assistance required by the Federal Government.
The Governor's media aide Mr Semiu Okanlawon confirmed this statement when the Police Community Relations Committee visited the Governor on Saturday.
Former President Goodluk Jonathan had refused to provide the special code for the helicopter to be linked with ground equipment provided by the Osun state government for surveillance.
The state government is convinced that the present government will support the full operation by providing the issuance of the sort code for the helicopters.
One would wonder if the crime rate in Osun state is really high for the government to consider getting the helicopters for  surveillance.
