Man bites off robber’s ear in Aba


An armed robbery victim bit off the ear of a robber during an attack at Ukaegbu Road, Ogbor Hill, Aba, Abia State. The suspected robber identified as Chijioke Ikechi and his gang attacked a resdient with a machete and took with them a sum of N300,000. Some residents of the area got the news of the on-going operation and quickly put a call through the police patrol team. Unluckily for Ikechi, one of the residents held on to him after biting off his ear lobe while other members of the gang escaped on seeing the police.
Residents of the area commended the Police for showing up immediately after they got the distress call.
A Deputy Superintendent of Police in the state asserted that a machete and an iron pipe fitted with wood, resembling a gun were recovered from the gang.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, Ezekiel Udeviotu Onyeke, said one of the residents that sustained a machete cut has been taken to the hospital for medical attention. He further encouraged the public to give relevant information that could assist in catching other members of the gang.
