Fake Policeman Pose As Police Constable

Seems some citizens are obssesed with the police force because that is the case of a man arrested in Ikeja Lagos.
The young man known as Godwin Akhenamen was given away by the number on his uniform because the policemen affirmed that it was not valid. When interrogated he claimed he had been in the service for 12 years but gave the policemen more concern when he said he didn't know the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase.
According to Vanguard, Godwin confessed that he was pushed into the act because he had tried several times to join the Nigeria Police without luck. He also said “In 2003, I decided to join the SPY police training, but by the time I got to Ikeja, I was told that registration had closed. I went back to my private security job only to be sacked two weeks later.
He narrated that since then he has had difficulty in surviving as he could not get another job hence, he had to get black material with which he sewed the uniform to enjoy free transportation to any destination of his choice.
Godwin had been enjoying being a fake policeman for the past 12 years with people giving him the respect a policeman deserved until X-Squad men caught him.
Lagos State Command spokesman, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident and said that the suspect would soon be charged to court.
