I know so many Nigerians have been anticipating the stand of the President on Gay marriage not even after the US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said they would continue to pressurize Nigeria until it legalizes same sex marriage.
On Wednesday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina made it known that the issue of gay marriage was raised in one of the meetings that the President attended in Washington DC.
It was gathered that President Buhari maintained his stand on the issue by emphasizing that the act is totally against the law and offensive to the country’s culture.On Wednesday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina made it known that the issue of gay marriage was raised in one of the meetings that the President attended in Washington DC.
Hence, the law still stands in prohibiting the gay marriage and same-sex relationships and stipulates a 14-year prison term for offenders.
