On Sunday, the Police Command in Taraba State confirmed a robbery attack on the residence of Alhaji Adamu Sadiq, the State Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria.
Command’s spokesman, Mr Joseph Kwaji, who confirmed the incident to newsmen in Jalingo, said the robbers attacked Sadiq’s residence at about 10pm on Saturday and carted away his Honda car and other valuables.
However, Mr Kwaji said the car had been recovered, but that the correspondent’s Home Theatre set, a television set, iPad, cell phones, laptops, desktop computer, among others, were still with the attackers.

Sadiq explained that he returned home after seeing off a friend, who visited him at about 9.30pm, and met seven men armed with guns inside his house.
The journalist added, “They requested that I should give them money. They told me that they were asked to come and collect the money I had and that if I refused to give them, they should kill me.
“Unfortunately for them, I had no money on me and that was how they resorted to packing my electronics and other personal belongings.
“They requested that I give them my car key, which I did and they packed my electronics in it and drove off.”
