A murderer who ate his victim’s heart “to prove he wasn’t gay” has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Andrew Chimboza, 35, from Zimbabwe, has confessed to murdering Mbuyiselo Manona, 62, in Cape Town, South Africa. Police found Chimboza eating Marona’s heart.
Manona allegedly attacked Chimboza after accusing him of having sex with his partner, but the younger Chimboza pulled a knife on Manona and stabbed him to death, he told police.
Chimboza’s confession to the Cape Town High Court is chilling:
“I then took a knife and slit his throat and continued to stab him.”
“I was so angry that I did not remember how many times I stabbed him or where.”
“I sit upon him and stabbed him on the chest, tore out his heart and took a knife and then sliced his heart and then I ate his heart.”
“The reason for me to eat the unknown guy’s heart was to show him that I am not a moffie (gay) and after I finished eating the heart, I realized he was dead.”
Chimboza was sent to a psychiatric hospital following the murder.
