Patience Jonathan, wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan had so many people wondering when she didn't attend the inauguration ceremony of President Buhari. Since she is always by her husband's side many wondered why she did not attend the ceremony held at Eagle Square.
According to Daily Post, Mrs Jonathan had to be persuaded into following Goodluck Jonathan to the inauguration dinner which took place yesterday 28th May.
It was also gathered that the real reason behind her absence today at the Abuja venue is that Patience could probably fail to control her emotions as it was painful for her to leave just after one term in office.
It was further narrated that after the yesterday’s dinner Jonathan’s wife broke down in tears. She did not want the situation to repeat at the Eagles Square, full of guests and cameras.
Another top source dismissed the allegations saying:
“Mama Peace has an important event to attend in Otuoke, their country home. You don’t expect her to attend the inauguration when people are waiting for her arrival back home. She is not aggrieved over anything and she is not the only First lady who could not attend the inauguration. Her attendance is highly insignificant. I don’t know why you, press people are trying to make something out of that.”
Absence of “Mama Peace” caused uproar in social media. Nigerians lamented over the disrespect demonstrated by the top official of the country to the incoming government.
