That was the question on everyone's mind at the star-studded finale of American Idol on Wednesday.
Beckham, 22, and Fradiani, 29, knocked off 10 other finalists and thousands of other people during season 14, but in the end only one of them could be named the penultimate American Idol.

Beckham, 22, and Fradiani, 29, knocked off 10 other finalists and thousands of other people during season 14, but in the end only one of them could be named the penultimate American Idol.
After two hours of performances including ones by Ricky Martin, New Kids on the Block, Chris Brown, Janelle Monae, and even judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. host Ryan Seacrest put all questions to rest and declared Nick Fradiani the 14th winner of the Fox reality singing competition.
"It's hard to put into words how I feel," Fradiani told PEOPLE backstage moments after the show. "I feel like I'm in a cloud right now. It's the best day of my life. I never once thought that this is going to happen. I was kind of just up there trying my best. It took me years. It's really incredible."
Not wasting any time, Fradiani has already released his coronation single "Beautiful Life"
