The former Egyptian president who served as the fifth president from 30 June 2012 to 3 July 2013 has been sentenced for twenty years.
Mohammed Morsi went from prison to become the president and now he is going back to the prison.
The Egyptian court sentenced the President to twenty
years in jail for ordering the arrest and torture of protesters during his
rule.
According to BBC news, it is the first verdict he has
received since his ousting and is one of several trials he faces.
Twelve other defendants were also found guilty and received
the same sentence as Morsi; they include former Muslim Brotherhood legislator
Mohamed al-Beltagi and Essam al-Aryan, the group's former spokesman.
